Where is Target?

There are Target store locations all over North America! You can use the store locator on Target’s website to find a store near you.

Once you’ve narrowed down your closest Target, it’s time to get couponing!

How to Use Coupons at Target

With your ideal Target location found, leverage these tips and strategies of how to use coupons at Target, so you can rake in the savings!

Check Out the Cartwheel Section

The Cartwheel Section on the Target app is a treasure trove for coupons!

There are over five hundred Cartwheel coupon offers available to you at any time, including both store and manufacturer coupons. This means that you can stack them together!

From your phone, just select the options you want before reaching the checkout.

Finding the Right Coupons

The Target app offers several ways to find the Cartwheel coupons you want.

You can sort the offers by discount, viewing the greatest savings first.

Alternatively, you can hit the “near me” button on the app, which will indicate what items in your nearest store currently have a Cartwheel coupon.

If you are in the store already, the app will determine what aisle you’re standing in, then list items in that aisle that have coupons!

Just note that location services must be enabled on your phone, so the app knows what deals are near you.

Adding Coupons

Here are the steps to take to add coupons to your Cartwheel account.

1. Tap on the Cartwheel coupons to add them to your account.

2. Go to the Wallet section of the app.

The screen will display a barcode to scan at the register when you check out, activating the coupons you selected.

3. Before you leave the app, be sure to hit the “view coupons” button under the barcode! This will pull up a new barcode for additional weekly coupons. The additional weekly coupons are usually threshold coupons – such as “save five dollars when you spend fifteen dollars on bedding.”

Use Ibotta App with Target Coupons

As a digital rebate app, Ibotta is a great tool for couponing.

After you return home from shopping at Target, you can upload a photo of your receipt to the app. Any items that you purchased (which are eligible for rebates on Ibotta) will result in money being credited to your account! As such, you can keep making savings even after you leave the store. Once you reach $20 on your account, you can cash out.

Best of all, you can use Ibotta rebates on purchases even if you already used Target store coupons or manufacturer coupons! It’s a great way to stack on the savings. Ibotta often allows you to buy up to five eligible products in a single rebate.

Pro-Tip: Other rebate apps you should download are Fetch Rewards, Checkout 51, and Saving Star. They all have deals you can access at home, just like Ibotta!

Use Other Store Coupons

You can find other Target store coupons online, in newspapers, and even in the store.

New Target deals and new store coupons activate every week, on Sunday. Sometimes, the coupons, such as 50% off one item, are valid for just one day. Go shopping earlier in the week to get the best offers!

Don’t worry about using too many coupons at once. To save time, you can use the self-checkout line, where you can scan coupons without feeling like you’re holding anyone up. However, there’s nothing wrong with using coupons at the regular register!

Pro-Tip: As you learn how to use coupons at Target, remember that you can stack different types of coupons together. Store coupons can be stacked with manufacturer coupons, increasing your savings on a single item!

Use Manufacturer Coupons

Store coupons (like Cartwheel coupons) are usually percent-off deals – like 20% off a can of Purina dog food. Another type of coupon is the manufacturer coupon, which is usually a dollar-off offer – like two dollars off Pampers wipes.

Manufacturer coupons can be combined with other sales, too! When you combine coupons, the percent will come off of the price before the manufacturer coupon is applied. For example, let’s say you’re buying a 99-cent box of Red Vines candy. First, you apply a 15% off store coupon. Then, you add a 50-cent off manufacturer coupon. The result is that candy now costs only 34 cents!

Sometimes, retailers require you to use a manufacturer coupon that is exactly the same price as the item you’re trying to buy. Target does not require this. Instead, Target will adjust the value of the manufacturer coupon down to the price of the item. This means that you can use a $2 coupon on an item that costs $1.50, ensuring that you get the item for free!

Buy 1 Get 1

Another common type of coupon is the “buy one get one” coupon, or BOGO. BOGO coupons are useful on their own. However, stacking BOGO coupons can be complicated.

Target’s coupon policy does not allow you to combine two BOGO coupons – so you can’t use two BOGO coupons on two items to get both of them for free.

However, if you use a store BOGO coupon, then you can use one manufacturer coupon to reduce the price of the first item.

Likewise, if it is a manufacturer BOGO coupon, you can then use one store coupon to lower the price of the first item!

What Will Target Coupons Offer You?

As you learn how to use coupons at Target, you’ll find that Target coupons have even more exciting offers. Let’s take a look!

Cartwheel Offers

Cartwheel offers come in two types.

The first type is a percent-off store coupon. Percent-off store coupons can be redeemed up to four times in any one transaction. So, if you have a coupon for 20% off of cat litter, you can buy four bags at once and get 20% off of each.

The second type is the dollar-off manufacturer coupon. Dollar-off manufacturer coupons from the Target app can only be used once in a transaction. As such, if you have a $2-off coupon for Pampers diapers, you will only save $2 for that transaction. This is true even if you buy multiple Pampers at once.

Be sure to check what kind of Cartwheel coupon you have before hitting the register!

Unlimited Gift Cards

For even more savings, you can use coupons on top of gift card promotions!

Gift card promotions are when Target will give you coupons for buying a certain item. For example, there may be an offer where if you buy two bottles of Tide you get a $5 Target gift card.

You can earn unlimited gift cards in a single transaction. As such, you don’t have to separate your items into different transactions to get the gift cards. If you buy six bottles of Tide at once with this offer, you will get three gift cards!

Pro-Tip: New gift card promotions appear every week! Use the gift cards that you earned last week to buy new items with gift card promotions this week. The savings keep on rolling!

REDcard Promotions

The Target REDcard is a debit card, serving as an excellent, easy way to save at Target.

When you use this card at the store, you save 5% off of every purchase! This 5% off can be stacked with coupons, sales prices, and even rebate app offers.
